Meet Jan

How I Got Here

How I Got Here

If I have learned anything in life, it is this: most people are not working in roles they enjoy or environments that align with their values. Many are capable, dependable, and outwardly successful, yet quietly disconnected from the work that occupies most of their waking hours. Research reflects what I see every day. Some studies estimate that up to 85 percent of people feel disengaged at work.

Disengagement is rarely about laziness or lack of ambition. More often, it is the result of prolonged misalignment, inherited expectations, and the pressure to keep going without pause. Over time, that strain erodes clarity and confidence. Decision making becomes heavier. Forward movement slows, not because people lack skill, but because their internal capacity has been depleted.

For more than twenty years, my work has focused on interrupting that pattern. I am a Certified Executive and Professional Coach and a Level II Reiki Practitioner, and I integrate traditional coaching with Reiki as a restorative practice by design. Coaching addresses goals, choices, and accountability. Reiki addresses the accumulated strain and imbalance that interfere with execution and momentum. Together, they support meaningful change without relying on force or pushing harder when capacity is already exhausted.

Learning how to integrate strategy, mindset, and personal capacity changed the trajectory of my own career. That experience led me to found Empower365 Solutions, built on the belief that work should not feel like something you endure for a paycheck. My mission is to help people reconnect with meaning in their work so they wake up engaged by what lies ahead, not drained by what is expected.

Today, I divide my time between working with individual clients through Empower Your Possible and independent consulting. I bring hands-on experience in recruiting, human resources, interviewing, and hiring thousands of professionals, which keeps my coaching grounded in reality rather than theory.

How I Got Here

How I Got Here

How I Got Here

My work did not begin in coaching.

It began with listening.

From a young age, people trusted me with their stories. Even as a teenager, others seemed to sense that I would hold what they shared with care. When it came time to choose a college major, I initially considered counseling. However, something quieter and more instinctive drew me toward social work.

At the time, I did not know any social workers. I did not understand the profession in the slightest.  What I did knew was simple. I wanted to help. When I was picking a major, I knew I wanted to advocate for those who did not have a  voice and those who had been silenced or overlooked.

Social work taught me many things. It revealed the complexity of human systems and the power of communication. It also taught me a truth I was not prepared for in my early twenties and one that was rarely emphasized in my coursework.

Sometimes, you cannot help. No matter what you do, you just can’t help. You cannot change every situation.

I also came to understand that truth fairly early.  I had to come to terms with the fact that change is not immediate. Pain is rarely isolated. Healing cannot be forced.

I entered the field believing I could help everyone and that awareness alone could undo years of harm. I learned instead that people are not broken problems to be solved. They are shaped by experiences they did not choose and cannot simply release on demand. Over time, I began to understand that growth is cumulative and that healing takes patience.

By my fourth year in school, I felt disillusioned not because the work lacked meaning, but because I still wanted results. Immediate results. I was young, impatient, and largely untouched by deep personal pain in my early years. I did not yet understand how long healing takes or how expansive the process can be. So, I ended up taking the business route and stepped away from social work.

Years later, while living in England, I returned to graduate study and pursued a master’s degree in social and economic transformation. That work examined how business and society can function together, how people can remain authentic while building success, and why fulfillment should never be a privilege reserved for only a few.

That was the moment something crystallized.

I had never truly left social work behind. I simply expanded how I could practice in a way that aligned with who I was and how I could make a meaningful impact.

Coaching became the bridge. It allowed me to help people reclaim their voice without feeling I had to rescue them, a naively misguided notion I carried from my early social work years. It allowed me to empower rather than intervene and to support growth that was sustainable rather than performative or ‘on demand.’

For more than twenty years, I have been working to integrate what I learned in my master’s program into a holistic practice. One that honors internal healing alongside traditional coaching. Over time, that integration became infused with restorative and energy healing (Reiki), grounded in practical action and deep self-awareness.

That evolution became Empower365 Solutions and laid the foundation of my restorative coaching programs.

This work is not about pushing harder to achieve success. It is about restoring what has been depleted, reconnecting people to their own judgment, and helping them move forward with confidence and self-trust.

Helping does not mean saving. It is about restoring space so people can reconnect with their own capacity to heal their career and their life.

Warmly,

Jan
